The Brazilians Eye Victory in Midweek League Action against Amakhosi

Mamelodi Sundowns’ return to league action sees them facing another Soweto Giant in what is anticipated to be a mouthwatering clash against second-placed Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night at the FNB Stadium.

Bafana Ba Style are coming from a tough cup competition result, which saw them bow out of the MTN8. Speaking to goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, he reflected on the weekend’s game and how it has affected the change room.

Obviously, we are not in a good space, and you can see the guys are still a bit down. The mood is still not the best in the changing room. We had a big objective to go all the way in the MTN8, but it was not meant to be. We just have to dust ourselves off and go again.”

As they shift their focus back to the league, their first encounter of this week sees them heading to Soweto to face a Kaizer Chiefs side they last met in April in the Nedbank Cup semifinal, where they knocked the Brazilians out.

While they may have finished outside the top eight of the league last season, they currently hold second place on the tally, with three straight wins and three clean sheets. According to Williams, the Glamour Boys look more competitive, and the team is looking forward to facing this version of the Soweto-based side.

There’s a big game ahead of us against Kaizer Chiefs, and we are looking forward to it. They obviously started the league campaign on a high note, so their confidence levels are up. There is, however, no need for us not to go into that game with confidence. We have been exceptional and we haven’t lost the game in open play since the season started,” he stated.

Yes, there’s obviously uneasiness, and you can see that the team has not settled down yet, but we know that we have got enough quality to get a positive result. We’ve done it before in the previous seasons, where we have gone to the FNB Stadium and gotten the desired results. We know it’s going to be a different ball game now because they’ve got the confidence, but we need to go out there and give an extra ten percent. It’s a big one, and hopefully we can go out there and get maximum points and top the log.”

The Bafana Bafana international concluded by encouraging the Yellow Nation to continue supporting the team, despite the result from the weekend. He said: “To Masandawana, we are all feeling the pain after last weekend, but we need each other more than ever now. This is the time when we need to draw strength from and support one another. We can’t wait to see you get behind the boys and support us at FNB.”

Mamelodi Sundowns will visit the FNB Stadium to do battle with Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night. Kick-off has been scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.

Guys have you ever noticed that since few games we played with Pirates they’re practicing witchcraft before the start of the game, why it’s because they’re afraid of us and our team led by Mabunda believes in prayer.
It’s only last year in Loftus where we sprayed water on their muthi before the game and guess what they lost by 4-1.
Muthi is working and we can’t run away from that and some will say why don’t we win a World Cup if it’s working, they won’t keep on doing that everytime we play them if it’s not working and that practise they’re doing is not a distraction to fear them it’s really but nowadays people left their customs because of civilization.
I’m watching that match even now Downs were playing good football but goals didn’t come and now we take our anger to Flemming Berg but that guy will buy when the coach and Management ask him to do,it’s always like that in life when things are tough you find a scapegoat.
Lastly those who wish for Pitso to come forget guys it will not happen since that court issue and Rhulani is contracted to his new team maybe when he got fired.Mina I do have hope we will turn the corner since other supporters shaked them after the game now they will be vigilant in whatever they do including Thlopie, this is Downs Mudau is back and our new middlefielder Tsiki from Dallas FC will make us happy and I do hope before window closes a gem is coming just watch the space.Kby forever

Mina if Cardoso leaves I would recommend Benni because of his passion like Dolezer, this thing of slowly build ups and too many backpasses would a thing of the past if we are coach by him but some will say it’s not “Downs way”of piano and shoeshine we are too fast like they used to say to Manqoba.
Guys those days are gone opponents must be caught off guard with sense of urgency during Rhulani’s tenure it was good on eyes with one nil scoreline in most games.
But Benni nowadays he always goes with Monoeb Josephs as his assistant and that guy hates us a lot because he likes Bucs.
Cardoso pls coach just be brave like Liverpool ‘s coach yesterday he played a sixteen year old and he scored a crucial goal just take that young boy from DDC by the name of Jerome Caresle if I remember it well to scores goals for us don’t even go to South America for a prolific striker.

Member with that this coach forget about young players,Khoza, Letlhaku and Mabena were regularly in the the team under Manqoba,it is just that Mabena got injured against Polokwane city, there is also Zandemela who is hard worker like Shalulile ang sensational Raloloane. I love what Pirates coach is doing, his team selection is unpredictable because he trusts all his players. In a short time he has been at Pirates he has played more young stars than cardoso.I can easily predict the starting line up of tonight’s game and also the comments after the game if we play badly, the same team that started against Pirates is going to start tonight, his comments would be we are feeling the effect of the Pirates game but,we have fresh capable players on the bench and in the stands. My advice to members is to eat early and anticipate the pain now because after the game you are not going to enjoy your foods. This one is the first coach to loose to Chiefs in more than 10 games across all competition.Guys if we are honest we lost to a weak Pirates team in both legs simply because we were tactically and technically outclassed not performance wise, because we are more concerned about controlling the game than scoring goals. This is exactly what mr 1000 passes was doing,he destroyed our team and corrupted the minds of Williams,Kekana,Allende and Mokoena the chiefs of back passes.I hate people who are lazy to think and rely on others’ opinions. My sharp mind tells me a team can complete 1000 passes in a game and end up losing that game but a team can’t score 10 goals and lose a game hence i’m saying we must work towards scoring goals not controlling the game.We loose most games after scoring first because after scoring we relax, stop attacking and Williams starts with his nonsense.

I just hope Cordoso knows what he is doing by strimming the squad and he must not come back and complain about too many matches being played and the fatique on the players otherwise we are going to show him the door. You better win today’s game against Amakhosikazi. KBY I remain

Both of you guys what you said Is mouthful that coach doesn’t mind or care about what’s happening in our team but last week since that obstruction of bus now he knows what will happen to him he even said his family in Portugal are now worried for his safety.
Why Mvala is not partnering Cupido and leave our weakest link Kekana on grandstand and upfront start with Rayners and Shalulile/Mothiba,Tashreeq is more dangerous when he comes from the bench than starting and I even doubt the role of Khompela nowadays even Badela is much better than him.
He cried about mental fatigue whereas he wants to trim the squad and leave over thirties at our team with so much games that are coming.
Rhulani and Pitso let’s forget about them because Pitso and Downs are not on good terms last week he was told to pay all the money including interest and Rhulani loves Pirates we can’t have someone employed by us and keep on praising our rival including his family all of them are Bucs supporters.
Let’s hope for the best tonight and I think the Management reminded him his mandate.
