Brazilians take over

A strong showing from Mamelodi Sundowns across the board saw the three teams get much-needed wins!

The Ladies Team overcame Richmond Ladies 1-0 in a tough away game. The win for Sundowns means that the Ladies team continued their impressive unbeaten run in the SAFA Women’s National League. A well-worked goal saw Rhoda Mulaudzi net the game’s only goal.

The First XI began their CAF Champions League group stage at Loftus Versfeld Stadium against Petro de Luanda of Angola. Downs walked away with a comfortable 3-0 victory courtesy of first-half goals from Mauricio Affonso and Motjeka Madisha before Sphelele Mkhulise added a third in the second half to close out a strong performance. The result saw Downs head to the top of Group C after the first round of fixtures.

To wrap up the weekends’ action the Mamelodi Sundowns Reserve Team playing in the Multichoice Diski Challenge side took on close rivals Bidvest Wits at Lucas Moripe Stadium in a tie between two sides at the top of the table. An own goal from Wits combined with a fantastic Promise Mkhuma strike saw Sundowns emerge victorious as 2-1 winners and extend their advantage at the top of the table.

I so wish the game against Casablanca was our home game and the game against Luanda could b our away game and the reason is being we r not performing well when we come back from the far northern parts of the continent.Ive got the fear of the unknown against Maritzburg of maybe we will b having jetlag and all the exhaustion because of the long travelling.I remember the way we played against Polokwane&Supersport in the semifinals of the MTN8 we didn’t come today the party but anyway those r my fears I so wish we could clinch the final of the Telkom knockout as it was our last domestic cup since 2015.

  2. All our teams are on top of the league somewhere which is good, We only have hired umbrella holders in the PSL, The PSL did not postpone our game but structured it and still we will have to pray that our flights are not delayed otherwise we will have to play on our landing day, you can see how hard Sundowns have to do to win the trophies, I think and I am sure that the Technical team will ensure that players left behind are getting prepared for the game, so that our preparations for the Telkom Cup is not disturbed. Let us prioritise the Telkom cup. Once again I luv Maritzburg and their coach too much they rescued south Africa from the noise makers HOWEVER we are in a corner here there is no other way but to take this one MAYBE Nedbank. Members let Gauteng invade KZN on the 14th, Please beautiful branches coordinate transport and let us know so that we can prepare for the trip.
