Aiming to collect all points on offer at the weekend, the Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will travel to Isak Steyl Stadium to do battle with the Sekhukhune United Reserves. They head into Sunday’s clash on the back of a 5-1 victory against Cape Town City and will look to carry the momentum into this weekend’s fixture.
Coach David Notaone looked back at last weekend’s home match, stating that the results have helped the team look more confident as they prepare for Sunday.
“We are going into this game more confident after a very tough game against Cape Town City, which we came back from with a very good result. We are playing against another tough opponent in Sekhukhune. It’s a different challenge but we are expecting another tough game, which I believe we have prepared for accordingly,” he stated.
Looking ahead to the away fixture, coach David said his side anticipates a very difficult meeting against a side that attacks very well. He suggested that the hosts will put up a fight, especially after registering another defeat last weekend but he remains confident in the squad they put for this match.
“Sekhukhune United are a very interesting team as their defence is very erratic while their attack is very aggressive. It will be very important for us to make sure that we minimise our mistakes and the back and maximise our opportunities that we are going to create against them. I believe that once you score a goal or two, you are able to determine the cause of the game.”
“They have suffered some big losses but if you look into those games, you see that they had a lot of chances that they didn’t take. They are a very dangerous team, but hopefully on Sunday, they don’t give us a lot of problems. We will take advantage of the moments we get in attack and also make sure that we are also cautious in terms of defending properly,” coach David concluded.
The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will do clash against the Sekhukhune United Reserves on Sunday afternoon a the Isak Steyl Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 12H00.
