The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will look to bag all points on offer by stunning the Chippa United Reserves when they meet on Sunday morning at the Sturrock Park Stadium in Johannesburg.
Coming from the back of a lopsided victory the past weekend, coach David Notoane has stated that the win has helped with the team’s confidence as they prepare for a new challenge this weekend against a difficult Chippa United side.
“So far, it’s been a good two weeks where we came back to winning ways. We were able to spread the minutes in last match and the outcome was a 3-0 win. We know this weekend we are playing against a very difficult team. When we played them away last season, they beat us 4-0 which has left a bad taste on our mouths. With the confidence that we came in the new week with, we are positive we are going to have a great game and a score to settle,” he stated enthusiastically.
Analysing their Chippa counterparts, the Diski Team coach said despite the hosts losing their previous match and only having recorded one win in the league, he anticipated a difficult side to play against.
“Firstly, we have to have the right mentality and show humility and respect to the opponent. It’s very easy to fall in the trap of taking games like these when you have been having better results than the opponent. We will in fact, need to put more work than the other team. We will need to kill the game as early as possible, just like we did in our previous game,” coach David said.
“Chippa has good players who can turn moments out of nothing into goals but tactically we are ready for the. We will just need to leave our hearts on the field and get the maximum points,” he continued.
Mamelodi Sundowns will face off Chippa United on Sunday morning at the Sturrock Park Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 10H00.
