Coach Jerry Tshabalala praises Banyana Ba Style’s March success and looks ahead to a bright future

Coach Jerry Tshabalala has heaped praise upon his players following an impressive conclusion to March, securing four wins out of five games in the new Hollywoodbets Super League season.

Banyana Ba Style faced formidable opponents, including three teams from the previous season’s top five (Royal AM, TS Galaxy Queens and University of Western Cape (UWC)), as well as two from the top ten (University of Johannesburg (UJ) and Durban Ladies).

The Free State-born tactician reflects on March as a pivotal period of growth and learning for his team.

“We will not forget the month of March in a hurry, because it made us realize that the league is going to be stronger this year. Despite the challenges posed by some of the league’s toughest opponents, we managed to secure 12 points out of 15. Our response to the 1-0 loss against UWC was particularly encouraging, serving as a reminder of our status as defending champions. The month has prepared us for the challenges we will encounter this season and we consider it a great learning curve,” expressed Coach Jerry.

Anticipating a busy season, Coach Jerry warmly welcomed the addition of young talents Nthabiseng Majiya, Cimone Sauls and Asanda Hadebe to the squad.

“They have already begun making valuable contributions to the team; as you can see, Majiya and Cimone have already started scoring. It excites me as a coach that our new signings have hit the ground running and we cannot wait to see Asanda in action. They are all youngsters and signing them illustrates our commitment to planning for the future,” the Banyana Ba Style coach added.

Additionally, Coach Tshabalala extended his best wishes to members of his team representing Banyana Banyana in the final round of the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifier against Nigeria.

“We wish the girls all the best as they compete against Nigeria in what will be a very exciting clash. They are not just representing themselves; they are representing Mamelodi Sundowns as a whole. We also extend our best wishes to the entire Banyana Banyana team. We are eager to see them play at the next Olympic Games,” concluded the Brazilians’ coach.
