Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to keep their place at the top in the DSTV Premiership when they meet Richards Bay on Friday evening. After their midweek triumph against Swallows FC, the Brazilians hope to return from KwaZulu-Natal with three (3) points.
Leading in the League, Mamelodi Sundowns sits on thirty-four (34) points whilst Durban side Richards Bay sits on twenty-six (26) points and is in the third position on the board. The KwaZulu-Natal side have had an impressive season as they have managed to bag seven out of fourteen games this season.
Head Coach Rulani Mokwena previewed the upcoming away encounter. “Fortunately, Richards Bay played against Swallow so when we did the Swallows FC analysis it was like killing two birds with one stone. We have had to do a thorough analysis on them because of the type of team they are. They won their last game 1-0 so it won’t be an easy game for us.”
He added that they had to put in extra work on their tactics for this match and they will keep trying to do their best in winning every game as they have for the past eight games. Masadawana look ahead to the away encounter and intend on returning to Chloorkop with maximum points.
“Seeing where Richards Bay is on the log, their consecutive wins, and their organisation of forms so it will be a very intriguing game because they’ve got very good players. We’re going to ensure that we get ourselves ready for the game because we know they will be ready for battle “, said the Masandawana Coach.
The Bafana Ba Style Coach on behalf of the entire Mamelodi Sundowns family passed on condolences to the family and friends of Premier Soccer League Marketing and Broadcasting Specialist advisor, Peter Mencer. “We would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to Peter Mencer’s family and the South African Football fraternity at large. I was fortunate enough to have a few interactions with him and he was an incredible gentleman with presence and elegance. That’s why they say that legends don’t die, their spirits continue to live the hearts and memories of those whose lives they have touched.”
