Diski Challenge Action Resumes with New Format

The DStv Diski Challenge returns this weekend after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in lockdown restrictions which caused the league to be put on hold in December 2020. At the time the league was postponed, four rounds of fixtures had been played with the Mamelodi Sundowns juniors registering two wins, one draw and one loss in the opening games.

The Diski Challenge returns with a new format, with the 16 teams being divided into an inland stream and a coastal stream where a round-robin format will take place to determine which teams progress to the final. The boys will be under the stewardship of head coach Surprise Moriri who will be accompanied by his newly-appointed assistant coach Raymond Seneo.

The tournament will be played under strict Covid-19 regulations. The participating clubs will be required to provide negative test results for all the players and support staff before the start of the competition. The Covid-19 tests must be conducted five days before the competition kicks off.

The Diski Team kicks-off their campaign this Saturday against Bloemfontein Celtic at 10:00 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
