The 2024/25 campaign of the DStv Diski Challenge is nearing its conclusion, with four matches remaining. The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will be looking to collect the remaining 12 points and their first stop will be at home when they host the Chippa United Reserves on Sunday morning at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
This game comes after a victory on the road which placed the young Brazilians back in third place on the tally. They won 1-0 against the Polokwane City Reserves, courtesy of Thulani Zandamela’s goal. Of course, they will look to carry on the winning mentality to this weekend’s game.
The Gqeberha-based side also came from a 3-2 victory, which was what they needed to put behind the loss they registered the week before. This positive result will help them boost their confidence ahead of this encounter against Bafana Ba Style which will certainly not be a walk in the park for both sides.
The two sides met last year in November where Chippa United hosted Masandawana in Gauteng. The home-ground advantage might have worked in Downs’ favor because they stunned their hosts in a 3-1 triumph. For coach David Notoane’s charges, a win is a must, not only to continue with the winning streak but to also complete a league double over their Chippa United counterparts.

It was indeed off side, that assistant referee is a criminal ,he should be investigated ,he was giving everything against us, even throw- ins.The whole team must just forget about the loss and think about our game next friday against Al ahly.The coach must protect Suarez by resting him and bring in Mvala if he is fit, they can’t continue to field him after such costly mistakes, this and that against pirates.Otherwise Suarez is still a good player, sometimes mistakes do happen in a game of football.
I also believe Tasrique Methews can play better than Sales however I am not the coach.It is hard to take the lose, but we can’t win them all at the same time.Better luck next time Masandawana.
