Diski Team Looking to Bounce Back Ahead of Sunday Match

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will be looking to turn things around and get the desired results when they host the Polokwane City Reserves on Sunday morning at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The Diski Team have now lost two matches consecutively, following their 2-1 loss against Stellenbosch at the weekend. Coach David reflected on the unfortunate results, expressing the disappointment the team felt after a very physical match in the winelands.

“We’ve gone two games without a win, which is uncharacteristic of a Mamelodi Sundowns team. The game against Stellenbosch is one the boys know we didn’t deserve to win. We lost at the death of the game, but it’s football and these things happen,” he said.

“A lot of emotion and disappointment has gone into that game and we were able to come back and reflect on it on Monday and make sure that the boys take positive lessons. For us now is to continue working hard and remaining positive.”

As they continue to gear up for the Sunday fixture, the Diski Team tactician stated that the team has put the weekend’s result behind them and they have gained their confidence back to ensure that they see positive results this weekend.

“Going to the match against Polokwane City, we look to come back to positive ways which is winning matches through positive performances. I think the work so far has been very good. The boys are picking themselves now and we are seeing a lot of positive energy, which is encouraging,” coach David said.

Looking ahead to their first match at Lucas Moripe Stadium, despite being hosts in two previous encounters, coach David said Rise and Shine will be a difficult side to beat, but they are ready to ensure that a win is the only result they come back with.

“Polokwane City are a very physical team with very competitive individuals. We have to be prepared to work hard for the result and I think we have enough quality in terms of players. Our playing concept should give us the necessary dominance to be able to come out with a positive result, but we will respect them. This will be our first home game at Lucas Moripe Stadium, so we look forward to get back home to turn our season around and start to get positive results.”

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski team will do host the Polokwane City Reserves on Sunday morning. Kick-off has been scheduled for 10H00.
