Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski team are gearing up for their second league match of the season. They are set to meet the Kaizer Chiefs Reserves on Sunday afternoon at the Dobsonville Stadium.
The young Brazilians face the Glamour Boys following a perfect start to the season. They kicked off their DStv Diski Challenge campaign with a 4-2 victory against the Durban City Reserves last weekend. Speaking to coach Tiro van Rooyen, he revelled on the victory on the road.
“We are happy to have started the season with a victory. We couldn’t get a win in our first game last season. So, it’s good to have a great start to the season. I’m proud of the boys.”
This week, Bafana Ba Style were gearing up for another encounter on the road and this time, against one of their biggest rivals. Just like Downs, Chiefs kicked off the new season with a victory against Orlando Pirates. So, the fixture between the Pretoria-based side and Sowetan side promises to be an exciting one and coach Tiro echoed that when he previewed the meeting.
“A match against Kaizer Chiefs will always be difficult -exciting but difficult. Both teams are tactically good and we both won our first games. So, we’ll both be fighting for the three points. May the best team win,” the coach stated.
Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team will do clash with the Kaizer Chiefs Reserves on Sunday afternoon at the Dobsonville Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 12H00.
