Downs ready for Clever Boys

Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to build on a strong start to the year as they face Bidvest Wits on Tuesday.

Both teams head into the game off the back of wins at the weekend. Sundowns defeated AmaZulu FC 3-0 in Durban thanks to a Sibusiso Vilakazi strike and a brace from Themba Zwane while Wits also claimed an away victory, overcoming Stellenbosch 2-0.

Downs frontman Sibusiso Vilakazi will be hoping to add to his recent goals against Polokwane City and AmaZulu as he looks to score against his former club. Wits come into the game with an impressive defensive record, having conceded just one goal in their last five games.

The two sides go into the tie evenly matched, with the last three matches between these sides ending in 1-1 draws. Both sides will be looking to continue to close the gap to the top of the Absa Premiership table. Sundowns enter the tie in second place, five points ahead of Wits who have played three games less than The Brazilians.

Mamelodi Sundowns take on Bidvest Wits on Tuesday evening at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Kick off is at 19:30.

Good game in prospect. What’s the update on the 3 Amigos? Good win vs Amazulu. The team played well. Jali is a consistent player now. Overall the team is starting to jell well.

Like the coach said, it’s going to be a difficult game. I hope our players will have the legs to carry them through. Should we win tomorrow, there’ll be panic buttons all over the place in Naturena. This game and the one against Rats on the 15th are going to determine if we’ll win the league

  3. I value the intimacy between the coach Pitso and the players. Also, the selection of players for the game is cryptical and Pitso and his team master the art. We look forward to the win tomorrow. Let’s not forget that a mindset of winners filters through our veins. This league has our name written all over it.

I would like to salute the technical team on the decision for giving Mkhulise a free role, the boy is a jam,he is a master key to unlock all the locken doors. To the game against Wits,I think if Musa is not fit we should play Madisha and Bangaly to deal with the powerful Motupa and Machupu bcoz Adrense cannot deal with them he struggled against the powerful and aggressive Ntuli.Adrense is good but not physically strong.

I am looking forward to beating Wits 2 – 0. We have a mastermind of a coach, and it appears like they have found the right way to rotate the team without tempering with the DNA that lies in our winning formula. The AMG (Affonso, Meza and Gaston) will definitely play in this game.

Masandawana, we are very well on our way to La Decima. Let’s just keep faith in our players and the Technical team

This is the greatest moment when we are supposed to be 200%behind this team.I mean now we can’t criticize the team now with such difficult fixtures in this January,I mean we playing Pirates 2 times,we play Supersport somehow this month and today its Wits&now we need to pray 4 these even if they don’t win they need our support more than ever.Pitso may God ALMIGHTY give u strength&wisdom to overcome these difficult situation.I know you and the technical staff the work the way you shape these boys day in &day out.I know sometimes we r very hard on u Sir Pitso but deep down in our hearts there’s no one greater than you.Your achievement is unequalled here in South Africa. You r a human being my coach,u r supposed to commit mistakes.May God give you more years to come. You are FANTASTIC COACH.
