Ele-vating Display: Rampant Brazilians Smash 11 past Coal City Wizards

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued their mesmerizing attacking performance in October as the defending champions claimed an emphatic 11-0 victory over Coal City Wizards at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the latest round of the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Miche Minnies smashed in four goals, while Andisiwe Mgcoyi and Boitumelo Rabale each posted brilliant hat-tricks, taking Banyana Ba Style’s tally to an astonishing 29 goals in their last four games. Tiisetso Makhubela was also on the scoresheet in the massive win.

Sundowns Ladies came into the game off the back of three consecutive six-goal performances, and Mgcoyi’s early strike in the 12th minute provided a glimpse of the flurry of strikes that were to come. Mgcoyi would go on to grab her first hat-trick of the season in the first half, which ended with the Tshwane giants leading by six goals.

The goals continue to fly in after the restart with Boitumelo Rabale grabbing her fourth straight hat-trick against the Mpumalanga-based side. Minnies also displayed clinical finishing, scoring four times and coming close to a fifth late in the game. Defender Tiisetso Makhubela, who excelled on both ends of the pitch by scoring and keeping a clean sheet, could not contain her excitement after the game.

“I am very happy with our team’s performance as everyone played so well from the blast of the whistle. Everyone was determined to get a positive result and we showed our class yet again. As a defender, keeping a clean sheet means so much and scoring gets me even more excited. There is so much to look forward to and we are pleased with our overall performance today,” Makhubela stated.

Malebogo Shawe also expressed her delight at the massive victory and believes that the win serves as strong motivation going into Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash against the University of Western Cape (UWC).

“I was happy with my performance today and my teammates made things easier because they were vocal and everyone was at the top of their game. We are all happy with the goals scored and this will be a strong motivation for Sunday’s game. The confidence in the team is high and everyone is fully aware of the task coming up next,” said Shawe.

Boitumelo Rabale’s hat-trick means she now has 21 league goals for the season, just three shy of her tally of 24 last season, which saw her named Hollywoodbets Player of the Season. Melinda Kgadiete is second on the Sundowns Ladies’ scoring chart with 15 goals, while Andisiwe Mgcoyi’s treble takes her tally to 10 strikes. Miche Minnies’ haul takes her tally to eight league goals.

Up next for Bnayana Ba Style is a top-of-the-table showdown against UWC at the UWC Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday, October 22nd, with kick-off set for 11h00
