Midweek action in the Betway Premiership awaits Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld. They are set to host Siwelele FC for the first time this season on Wednesday night.
Sundowns will look to continue their positive run of form on Wednesday after a positive start to the season, with 16 points after six matches. The Pretoria-based side come from the back of tight 2-1 victory against Lamontville Golden Arrows and will look to collect all points on offer against Siwelele. Defender, Fawaaz Basadien, reflected on the difficult encounter in Umlazi, also touching on their resilience as a team.
“One of the strengths we have in the team is to always grind out results and have a positive mindset. We never give up and play until the last minute no matter what. That was key for us against Arrows – to just keep going and the result will come.”
Siwelele are currently 14th on the tally and come from a loss over the weekend. While they don’t know what to expect from the Siwelele side, Basadien stated that Bafana Ba Style’s focus will be on winning another match.
“We don’t know what Siwelele will implement, considering they’ll have a new coach on the bench. It will be up to us to stick to our strategy and fight for a victory. We just need to focus on what we want to achieve,” the defender said.
Mamelodi Sundowns will do host Siwelele FC on Wednesday night at Loftus Versfeld. Kick-off has been scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.
