Jody February and Grant Margeman join Masandawana on a five-year deal each with an option, the two junior national team players make the move from Cape Town as both plied their trade with Cape Umoya and Ajax Cape Town respectively in the GladAfrica Championship.
“I just want to hit the ground running from day one, I am out of my comfort zone, I want to give the coach headaches and fight for my place in the squad and learn from my elder especially the keepers in front of me. It is important to have a long career and help the team to be successful as it was last season”, said February.
Margeman has just completed 100 games in the colours of Ajax Cape Town during the promotion and relegation play-off and has also been to the Junior World Cup with the National under 20 and was part of the Amaglug-glug side that qualified for the 2020 Olympics that were postponed.
“I am excited to join the Masandawana family, my goal is to help the club to bring more trophies to Chloorkop and the reason I joined the club because it has the best players in the country and as a player if you want to best you must play against the best”, said Margeman.

Strengthening the team is good, but buying any players for the sake of buying is my concern. We have now more than 45 players in the first team, how are you going to use them all? Most of them are not going to be used for the entire season as we experienced in the previous seasons. This is to kill their careers and financial lost for the club. The team needs also to think about our development players who did well last season. For me, the club should buy appropriate players for needed positions, and have limited number of players in order to well manage them.
