Five Downs Starlets in the Final Amajita Squad Ahead of U20 World Cup

The South African U20 men’s national team head coach, Raymond Mdaka has announced a 21-man squad ahead of the highly anticipated U20 FIFA World Cup. Among the 21 men are Mamelodi Sundowns starlets, Asekho Tiwani, Thato Sibiya, Gomolemo Kekana, Siyabonga Mabena and Kutlwano Letlhaku.

The qualification to participate in the international stage came after Amajita’s historic AFCON triumph earlier in May. Tiwani, Sibiya, Kekana and Letlhaku were a part of thegroup that lifted the U20 AFCON. Mabena, on the other hand, missed out due to an injury lay-off. He now joins the quartet as they head to Chile to represent South Africa.

Amajita are in Group E and they have been pitted against the United States of America, New Caledonia and France. The tournament will take place from the 27th of September 2025 to the 20th of October 2025.

The Mamelodi Sundowns family would like to congratulate the quintet together with the rest of the Amajita squad ahead of their World Cup.

I don’t know whether to congratulate these boy bcoz when coming back they will never play our team,as this stupid management will b chasing youngsters from other rival teams. If Kekana is great why bring Basadien to Sundowns.Looking at Nkota,Mofokeng,Mbokazi&Seema u become so envy of these boys, while our boys r made to stay at home bcoz we r having a visionless coach&useless management that only think abt wasting money buying cheap performing bt expensive mediocre players.Basadien stays at home for what?Travel well boys knowing very much that Sundowns will never take u seriously, its a curse to b led by these ppl

This boys will not grow at Downs unless they move to other teams because our team isn’t believing in youngsters but they got development sides even from under 12 to under 19 and if you can ask where are those boys you will find majority of them were loaned and some are playing for Tuks as always.
Window period started on the 1st of July and now they’re busy scraping their heads for recruiting players as if they didn’t know it closses on the 22nd September, that’s how our team is being run lately, too many people doing nothing for the team.
Cardoso said he also needs wingers but they signed Aphelele Teto and loaned him to Tuks and Comitis gave them players but they refuse instead of taking a good one which is Emile Witbooi and that young striker but they’re still looking to bring one or two from abroad.
This young boys selected from under 20 hope they will market themselves to good teams but our team will block that move and keep on putting them on grandstand.
