Mamelodi Sundowns anticipate meeting with Orlando Pirates on the 20th of December 2022 as they resume with the DSTV Premiership action for the remainder of the season. Masandawana utility Defender Grant Kekana previewed the upcoming fixture and shared the team’s expectations and match preparations.
“It’s been a while since we’ve played during the festive season and had training taking place during this period. We have been preparing for this game like we normally prepare for games. We’re going to take this game as seriously as we take any other game we play as a team that is always playing to win”, said Grant Kekana as he spoke about the team’s preparation for the fixture.
The Brazilians departed to a Camp in Polokwane during their break as part of the preparation for the resumption of the season. The team used the camp to identify their mistakes from their previous games with Orlando Pirates to ensure that they produce better results for the anticipated clash.
“As the years go by, teams improve, and I think Pirates has been in that transition where they have more quality players who are also a lot more motivated. It’s always a tough and entertaining fixture between the two teams. From our side, it’s always a fun game, and it’s also good for the supporters. we will be well prepared, although we know it won’t be an easy game because e we never know how the game will go especially when we play against a team like Pirates because they bring their ‘A’ game and we bring ours”, said Grant Kekana.
Kekana relayed a message to the Masandawana faithful upon the big action to take place on Friday afternoon. “To the Masandawana supporters, we would like for you to please come out in numbers to the game on Friday. We are excited to be reunited with you after the break we’ve had, we can’t wait to celebrate with you and end the year on a good note together.”
The Bafana Ba Style defender further shared that the team is focused on the game, and they motivate each other to work hard for all games because everyone is fighting for their spot in the squad. He mentioned that the team is aware of what is at stake, and they will give their best performance on the pitch.
