I am evidence that hard work pays off – Mkhuma

Promise Mkhuma is a product of the Mamelodi Sundowns youth structures and has made progress in the first team, he has also already won himself a league medal. He follows in the footsteps of Percy Tau, Motjieka Madisha, Sphelele Mkhulise and Nico Lukhubeni just to name a few. “I am excited about winning the league in my first season since joining in December. It is great and I know I am going to win more trophies with the club, this is the first of many to come.”

Mkhuma is already a youth international and captained the Masandawana Multichoice Diski team and is now reaping the rewards, he said that, “the work that the coaches put on me is paying off and all the other players in the development should work hard and make sure that they improve. I am evidence that hard work pays.”

Since his promotion, Mkhuma has played five games and has been doing well since football returned.

“I am always around senior players like Hlompho Kekana and Tiyani Mabunda as they advise me on stuff on and off the field. They are always telling me how to calm myself before the game and I must not be scared to make mistakes. Most of the time we talk about football but they also share their life experiences with me.”

The twenty-year-old is currently studying at Tshwane University of Technology and is doing his second year in Officiating and Coaching Science

Well done Promise, the advice I can give you is that, please live a clean life on and off the field, please listen to your coaches, team mates, being creative don’t be selfish. Look what Percy Tau did in the UEFA champions league against REAL MADRID, CREATIVITY if you can do that more and more and defend I’m telling you that I three years to come, big leagues across the globe will want your signature. I wish you everything of the best young man
