In the recent win against Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup last 32, Goalkeeper Ricardo Goss made his long-awaited debut for Mamelodi Sundowns as he started in goals. The shot-stopper joined Masandawana at the start of the season from Bidvest Wits. The Bafana international has been making the bench and working hard to make the first eleven.
“Making my debut for the club was a great achievement for me, I have been working hard, getting ready for when I get the chance. It felt great on the day and we won and progressed to the next stage of the tournament”, said Goss.
Mamelodi Sundowns have played fifteen games in the DStv Premiership without registering a loss. The last time a defeat was on the cards for Bafana Ba Style was in the MTN 8 against Bloemfontein Celtic. The shot-stopper shared what this achievement means to the team and said “We have been working as a collective, we have been getting good results and that is what we fight for every game. It also goes down to hard work and the talent that we have in the team, it feels good to be playing for a team that is doing well”.
Goss also had some great words of inspiration for his teammate Denis Onyango. The Ugandan International has kept ten clean sheets in fourteen games. “He has been doing well and proving why he is one of the best in the continent. For me, I want to learn as much as I can from him, support him in every game and at training. He has been fantastic and humble with all the keepers at the club, we have been working together and pushing each other. I am happy to be under his wing and learning from him”.
