After registering an emphatic 8-1 win over First Touch Academy midweek, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be aiming to continue their sizzling run of form as they face Ma-Indies Ladies on Saturday in the latest round of the Hollywoodbets Super League.
The Brazilians were unstoppable last time, with Melinda Kgadiete’s hat-trick setting the tone for what was a comfortable outing at the Wits University Stadium, which resulted in the 14th win of the season for the defending champions.
The result also ensured that Banyana Ba Style has now gone nine games unbeaten since the beginning of April. In that time, the reigning league champions have registered eight wins, scoring an incredible 38 goals.
Despite that impressive run of results, Lebohang Ramalepe believes the team needs to remain vigilant to avoid any surprises on Saturday.
“We have to stick to the game plan and ensure that we capitalize on the chances we create because we cannot afford to drop points. Playing away is always tricky, so we need to be at our best against Ma-Indies Ladies. We played a game just a few days ago, so our opponents will be looking to hinder our good run. Therefore, we have to stay focused and ready for the game and we have to put in the work to achieve maximum points,” Ramalepe said.
The Banyana Banyana defender also spoke about how she has enjoyed her time so far with the defending champions.
“I have enjoyed my time at the club since I signed. The quality of the dressing room, the winning mentality and the history of the club excite me. I am also happy to have scored some crucial goals for the team. My aim is to continue giving my best and ensuring that we dominate in the competitions we find ourselves in,” Lebohang concluded.
Sundowns Ladies have enjoyed playing against Ma-Indies Ladies in recent times. Banyana Ba Style secured a league double over their opponents last season, thanks to a 2-1 away win and a 6-0 home victory. The Brazilians also registered a stunning double over the Limpopo-based side two seasons ago, thanks to a 3-0 home win and a 7-0 victory in the reverse fixture. Earlier this season, Sundowns Ladies secured a 2-1 success thanks to goals from Miche Minnies and Boitumelo Rabale.
The clash between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and Ma-Indies Ladies is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 10th, at the Noordelikes Rugby Stadium in Polokwane. The match will kick off at 15:00.
Wishing you all the best ladies. I am one who is really never easily impressed, and still think if we can keep our composure and teamwork (passing to a team mate better positioned to score) instead of going for personal glory this team can score an avalanche of goals that we are use to. Remember you spoilt us with high scorelines so when you win by 1 goal margins we take it as complacency and substandard. We trust that your groove is back. Please do not undermine any team…all the teams are after our scalp so lets prove to them who are the champions. UWC is on our neck
