It is important to seal off the game and go into the group stages- Denis Onyango

Masandawana switches their focus to continental football as they will take on Jwaneng Galaxy in the second leg and a win will seal a spot in the group stages. The first leg in Botswana saw the Brazilians walking away with a 2-0 victory. The game over the weekend against the Buccaneers was the first game of the year.

Denis Onyango had time to reflect on the previous game and the next game “It is nice to be back in the New Year and to have played a game on the second day was good for us, it was worth it. The game we played over the weekend was great for us and good preparation for the upcoming clash in the CAF.’’

The two goals scored against Galaxy came from Mothobi Mvala and Peter Shalulile.

“The game against Jwaneng Galaxy seems easy as we won the first leg 2-0 but it is not over, it is still half time for me and the rest of the team. In football, you can never underestimate your opponents. We must focus on the game and be professional to win the game so that we can take the team to the next stage which is the group stages. It is almost a done deal for us but we do not disrespect the game. We must play the game with a lot of respect and win our home game and build up to the league game over the weekend,” said Onyango.

Denis Onyango who was part of the squad that conquered Africa in 2016, shared his feelings on the upcoming clash, and in closing, he said that “It is important to seal off the game and go into the group stages as you don’t want to play in the Confederations Cup. It is not easy to play in the Confederations Cup. We can’t be losing to a team that we managed to beat away from home. We want to get into the Champions League group quickly so that we can focus on the league as we wait for the draw of the Champions League”.

The game takes place at Loftus Versfeld at 16:00 and will be broadcast on the Mamelodi Sundowns YouTube Channel.

Really sometimes these former French colonies are very stupid,is it because we don’t have broadcasting companies or no television rights that can be granted locally(meaning in Africa)that we are always under the skirts of our colonial masters.Who said because we were colonised so we must continue with every rubbish of our former feudal masters? Can u imagine UEFA COMPETITIONS being broadcast by SABC &on the same process the games are not available in England or Germany. What kind of contactual&sponsorship deals are these?Having that Madagascan person in Caf highest post we thought things would be better but we found that he was the worst,to accommodate umsangano wase West&North Africa.Last Sundowns was playing home games at Loftus at about 22:00 south African time just to accommodate other religions excuses. Now our game won’t appear in any of our television companies. Thanks to this Mamelodi Sundowns YouTube channel but in Africa a lot needs to be rectified we r so dependent on these Europeans we failing to think 4 ourselves. When is this inferiority complex going to come to an end?
