Mamelodi Sundowns regained second spot and moved to within four points of log leaders Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership following a 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday evening.
The weekend’s Man of the Match Nicholus Lukhubeni maintained his spot the starting eleven as Pitso Mosimane went with the same line-up that took down the Chilli Boys on the weekend.
Vilakazi gave the Brazilians the lead in the 15th minute with a simple tap in at the back post after Mabokgwane parried Themba Zwane’s shot.
Siwele levelled matters on the half-hour mark after Ndumiso Mabena fired past Onyango into the bottom corner.
The first half drawing near, Zwane almost restored the lead but his effort was brilliantly saved by Mabokgwane at the near post.
Downs restored their lead ten minutes after the restart, when the skipper curled home an unstoppable free-kick from the edge of the box leaving a lively Mabokgwane with no chance.
With Siwelele on the charge, the Brazilians nearly caught the visitors napping as Maboe latched onto a Zwane through ball, the electric midfielder firing the final effort over.
Mosimane’s men controlled the game through the final quarter to collect all three points and move to within four points on table topping Kaizer Chiefs.

Well done guys, now let’s focus on our next game,n try to go through the Nedbank quarter finals…..I hope Ali Meza will start ahead of maboe
Congratulations to the team, these were hard earned points, it was not an easy game ,Celtics will make you sweat blood for your victory, you can only breathe properly after full time especially at that goal margin. You can win but they will give you a good challenge. Its that time of the season where Sundowns begin to be on form and can not afford to lose a game.KBY
What a great game , experience showed off , now to the next one , Someone is feeling the heat
Well done boys, to Maboe keep your head up boy you are not a bad player at all , you can still score goals because you are a good player with huge potential, keep up the hard work. Some supporters only look at the final product they don’t see the hard work behind the product, that is how unfortunate football is at times.
I support there, I think it’s harsh & selfish of us to booo our players because they miss, do we really think he misses deliberately? He needs support from us, he’s under pressure, let’s not break the boy. I know they booo him to get back at the coach for fielding him but whose the victim,
I support you 100 percent Members, Let us support the boy and not kill him, He is trying to score but luck is not on his side. Ka bo yellow I MUST remain.
Well done boys #kaboyellow.
Well done boys please keep on grinding them results. I think our coach shoult give Meza or young players a chance that he has given Maboe. I’m not sure what’s going on with Madisha ,his mistakes at the back we cause us games
