Kekana Wins PSL Award

Hlompho Kekana was on Friday announced the winner of the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month for August, beating stiff competition from rivals.

The Mamelodi Sundowns skipper was handed the award at the club’s headquarters, with his teammates celebrating with him for the honours.

Kekana’s trade mark long-range thunderbolt in our home clash against Cape Town City at the Lucas Moripe had initially made the shortlist along with Sibusiso Vilakazi’s stunning strike in our opening league match against SuperSport United, which was also played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium last month.

The skipper’s goal will automatically go into the Absa-lutely Awesome Goal of the Season at the PSL awards come end of the campaign in May.

Voting was open to the general public and Kekana emerged the winner as confirmed by the league on Friday via their visit to Chloorkop.
