Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Team’s secured a 5-0 victory over Thunderbirds FC as they added to their unbeaten run in the Hollywoodbets Super League. The two sides had already met earlier on in the season, with Masandawana securing a 3-0 win at the Groenkloof stadium in May. Saturday saw the Ladies better that score line, ruthlessly putting five past the opposition.
Captain Zanele Nhlapho opened the scoring in the game with two successive penalties in the ninth and the thirteenth minutes respectively, helping Banyana ba Style start with a bang.
Andisiwe Mgcoyi then extended the lead early in the second half before Coach Jerry Tshabalala and the technical team made a host of substitutions to strengthen the team with fresh legs and changed the game plan. The last twenty minutes of the game saw two additional goals scored with Agnes Nkosi and Thalea Smidt getting their names on the scoresheet to put the result beyond doubt.
