Lebese Released, Brockie Joins Maritzburg

Jeremy Brockie last night joined Maritzburg United on a season long loan, while Mamelodi Sundowns can confirm that George Lebese has been released.

Another player who is also leaving Chloorkop is midfielder Sibusiso Khumalo, a player who spent the previous season out on loan at Bidvest Wits.

‘Sniper’ as Brockie is known joined Sundowns from SuperSport United in January last year and struggled for game time. The club wishes him well during his loan spell with the Team of Choice, who beat the transfer deadline to sign him.

Lebese also returned from a short loan stint at our Tshwane rivals SuperSport United, but he, too, struggled for minutes on the field during his spell with the Brazilians. The club and the player agreed to part ways yesterday.

Furthermore, Sundowns can confirm that Lucky Mohomi, Aubrey Ngoma and Jose Ali Meza have been registered for the 2019/20 season. And the same goes for Abram Ngcobo,  Harold Majadibodu and Nicholus Lukhubeni.

Why hv these players not been registered if we failed to release them? I’m directing this question to the coach and the management including Mr Motsepe himself

Now I fully agree with those who used to say Downs is killing players career, I know soccer is a business those players must be bought by other clubs but to not registering them the whole season is demoralizing them even to come to training everyday will be tough.

Does our President knows about all this painfully things happening to our team I think a shrewd guy like Jose Ferreira must be employed again because he’s leaving Wits so that he can stop all this bad things.Just imagine a player like Meza coming all the way from Venezuela to play here in SA but ending up not registered to play, why don’t we release a poor guy to go back to his homeland rather than frustrating him here.I know they will be those fellow members who will accused us of being unfair to Downs by saying the above but deep down their hearts they know its a truth Downs is the most career killing soccer team here in South Africa than other teams,Kby forever

    1. I totally agree with you.Why not releasing the players if you are not going to use them. This a total disgrace .It is painful to see top players not registered with the team.Send the players on loan.

I’m not sure if I only read the edited version of this reporting, but I read there and it says the above mentioned players have been registered for 2019/202 season

Am initial statement said they were not now they corrected it by saying “they were registered” hope they will play maybe it was a finger error from our Webmaster lol.

Communication department is one of the worst in recent times for my FC. We used to have a brilliant guy Thulani Thuswa who did a massive job with him being at the helm for 7 years and man did his thing effortless. Now we have to deal and defend incompetency with drama on a daily basis worse on the most powerful tool which is social media. I would really like to request Management to think about this thotoughly. Sundowns ia big brand to accept such mediocre. Clearly people who are left there doing communication have no idea whatsover of what they are doing or supposed to be doing. You people hurt the brand more than you can imagine. I am really disappointed that management has not even picked up this nonsense that is being done to the brand. Clearly something URGENT needs to be done.

Why is our registered squad for 2019/20 PSL season not updated on our website, some people are earning their money for sleeping on duty. We have been complaining about this for too long and management is not taking us serious.

All the best to Jeremy Brockie, he must go and do well, he is not a bad player, the style at Sundowns could not suit him, he could not adjust to fit in the style, we hope to see him revived and finding his feet. Life goes on George Lebese, just avoid social media , focus on reviving your career, it could be revived quickly if you remain focused. Meanwhile the other guys must focus and fight hard for their positions. Some had already given up, but its time to pick it up from where you dropped it, first pick your countenance , lift your spirit and fight hard to earn your play, when given 10 minutes to play, make no mistake of complaining, just deliver your best, give it all, favour shall come your way, above all things learn to forgive and reconcile with oneself and avoid the blaming game, it is just too destructive . Gather your inner energy and focus, you can not be bad players over one season. Prove your haters wrong in the field of play. This is the best turning point, when you are least counted, revive and rejuvinate your talent in the same place with same people, showing commitment. Do not allow any kind of deception encroach into your minds because of media reports. If anyone see a value in you will buy you at whatever cost, you are still a diamond at Sundowns, that is why Sundowns will put a value on you regardless of active participation.

I am not happy with Villas work-rate at times. He is a player that will pull one good stunt, score a goa or make a passl and disappear for more than 60 minutes. I agree that he should come as a sub in the second half for Zwane or Sirino if they not doing well. He should not start the game with them.

How many foreign players are registered with the team for this year since Meza has now been registered? I still believe that this guy can deliver if he is given time like Vila and Maboe! Even Rantie must be signed!

Forthright Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he gave George Lebese enough opportunities to command a regular place in the team but the midfielder didn’t grab the chances that came his way.

According to me it is no trues, he should have given him a chance equally Maboe.

  13. Skhumba

As much as i support Pitso as a coach of our beloved Sundowns but at times the things that he claims to adhere to are not true. He can’t claim that he is giving every player at Sundowns equal opportunities to prove themselves. How many games did he give Ngoma? How many games did he give Lebese and Meza? Even Mohomi the last that he played, he did well but he never given another chance again. He claims that once a player is given a chance to play he must keep himself there, meaning he has to perform to remain in the starting line up! But that is not the case with Maboe and Vilakazi. They under performed in most of the games that they have thus far but the coach never stops from fielding them in the starting line up! Isn’t this called favouritism?

For me I support Mamelodi Sundowns with the decision they take. I do it only because it’s my team that I support since age of 13 until now as I’m about to turn 50. But truth be told Downs is the most enemy to players career. It hurts to see what to players that you see they had a bright future. Sibusiso Khumalo was showing that he had a future when still at Swallows. We took him we released him after how many years without playing. Is the a team that can still take him at his age while he wasn’t playing for years. Mohomi is a gem but the competition is tough for him at Downs why can we lower his selling price to let the boy go and show case his talent. Ngoma, Meza, Manyisa and Bangaly. Our coach keep is doing great yes but he need stop been greedy. U can’t sign a player knowing u don’t want it. His favouritism will expose him one day. He keep on lying to us. We can a performing and underperforming players. Vila is playing bad but he protect him. Kali performed well last time he make comments with him so that he can have excuse of benching him. Members let us stop hiding behind bushes Downs is killing this boys careers. I used to be protective when rivals say it but it clear for every body to see it.
