Dear Chairman Mpho Mothupi,
I hope you, the NOB, our Provincial Chairs, and Provincial Secretaries are all in good health.
It has been a few weeks since our successful NEC meeting at the Southern Sun Hotel conference room in Pretoria, and much has happened since—both positive and challenging.
This Club—our Club—is a family, united through the special bond of football and empowered by our passionate people. It is the players, supporters, and staff who make Mamelodi Sundowns the family it is, and every member is vital to our legacy.
Without our players—those skilled and dedicated men and women who have committed themselves to the short yet intense career of professional football—there would be no Club. Without our staff, the team behind the team, our players would not be taken care of, and our Club would collapse. Without our supporters, the stadiums would have no spirit, our team would have no rhythm, and our Club would have no soul.
We each have a crucial role to play in the survival of this family. But we are not a family desperate to survive— we are a family determined to thrive and conquer.
That is why the mission to increase Mamelodi Sundowns’ supporter presence at the stadium has always been one of the most important objectives in the Club’s strategy. We aim to be the best football club in Africa, but to be the best, we must win on the pitch and in the stands—and I want to thank you and the entire supporter structure for your unwavering commitment to this mission.
The attendance in April has been outstanding thus far, and we must elevate our voices at every match if we want to see our team succeed in these final, defining moments of the season. I congratulate all our supporters for the unity and energy they’ve brought to our home games—and urge us to keep going.
The negative scenes during the Esperance game were a disappointing low point that took attention away from an incredible performance by our players, technical team, and supporters. I am aware—through official reports and direct accounts from supporters who were close to the violence—that we were victims of aggression. I am truly sorry this happened to our members and assure you that security at all future Champions League matches will be significantly improved. Football should be enjoyed by all—there is no place for violence in the game.
I also want to remind everyone that we are a Club guided by the philosophy of Ubuntu. We must not allow the negative events of the past to shape how we treat our fellow Africans in the future. Our match against Al Ahly should be a celebration of our love and support for our players.
We are an institution built upon a higher purpose: to inspire and give hope through football. That is why we wear the words “The Sky is the Limit” over our hearts. Nothing inspires our players more than hearing the Yellow Nation’s voices echo through a full stadium—especially when the game is tough! Your unwavering support reminds them they are not alone, and the beat of the drum awakens the warriors within.
Please pass this message to all our beloved supporters: when the team is down, your support is needed more. When times are tough, sing even louder. Magical moments in football don’t arrive when hope is high—they appear when hope seems lost. That is when we must roar in the face of defeat and boldly believe in our team. When we do this together, our loyalty will be rewarded.
In closing, I’d like to recap the key points we discussed during our NEC meeting:
- The Club needs our supporters to save the Supporter Card Program by signing up for the Sanlam Funeral Policy immediately.
- The Club will consider playing home fixtures (both in Champions League and the League) outside of Gauteng to accommodate our supporters in other provinces.
- The Club is excited to bring a few supporters to the FIFA Club World Cup in The candidates will be nominated at the special extended PEC meetings based on the criteria previously shared.
We are truly blessed to be a Club with the supporters, players, and staff that we have. Let us always work together to make Mamelodi Sundowns the best Club in Africa.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with you all.
Tlhopie Motsepe,
Mamelodi Sundowns Chairman

We loose and win together as a team, the yellow 🟡 nation family and we appreciate everything that the team is doing 🙏
