Maboe talks about the upcoming clash against United

Mamelodi Sundowns travel to Harry Gwala to face Maritzburg United who has not won a single game this current season. The Team of Choice has already made changes to its technical team by bringing in a new coach.

We caught up with Lebo Maboe, who has donned the jersey of the opponents and he shared his thoughts on the coming clash by saying “A very tricky one coming up next, it’s always tricky playing Maritzburg in their backyard. Regardless of how they’ve started the season they’re always motivated playing against us. So I don’t think how they’ve started the season is going to be so important in the upcoming game. They’re a team that wants points so I foresee a rejuvenated Maritzburg under their new coach Ernst Middendorp.

Maboe has had a great start to the season and is currently putting in some great performances.

“Right now what’s important for me is staying in the team and to keep improving and helping the team. I believe there’s still a lot of room for improvement. Consistency is going to be so key for me right now.” said Maboe.

The Brazilians are currently sitting on the summit of the log standing, with five games played and no loss.

“It’s very, very important for us to keep collecting as many points as we can, looking at how crazy our January schedule is going to be. Plus we are still going to be competing in the Champions League. So we’ve had a very good start and we should keep that winning feeling burning under our skins.” concluded Maboe.

The team’s left side is not effective. Lyle Lakay is always caught off position and he never deliver good crosses. He is very predictable and always lose possession whenever he tries to dribble past the opposites. Is the no any other left back to replace him?

We missed coach Rhulani today. As for Keke I rest my case. It is now very clear to me that selection and substitution not on merit anymore
