Mamelodi Sundowns Appoints Head of Women’s Football

Mamelodi Sundowns has taken a significant stride forward in its pursuit of excellence in women’s football with the appointment of Christa Kgamphe-Jane as the Head of Women’s Football.

In her new position, Christa will assume a pivotal role in crafting and executing a comprehensive strategy for the women’s football program, integrating it with the Club’s broader football strategy, vision and goals. She will provide strong leadership and guidance to the coaches, players and staff within the team, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity and professionalism.

Expressing her excitement upon assuming the role, she stated, “Taking up this opportunity means that Mamelodi Sundowns women’s football will be afforded a platform and support to flourish while I am at the helm. The Club sought someone with related qualifications, vast experience and a passion for growing the game. The team is already performing well on the field and this is a chance to create workable sub-systems and maintain existing ones within the entire structure of this great Club. I am here to further enhance the vision of the Club. I have been exposed to domestic and international football systems and this experience will be valuable in this role.”

Beyond strategy formulation, Kgamphe-Jane will also play a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing the next generation of talent. This strategic move ensures that a steady pipeline of talented players is nurtured within the Sundowns system.

Christa brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, holding various football coaching licenses and certificates from the South African Football Association and the Confederation of African Football. She is also a sports management expert, sports consultant and talent manager, with degrees in Sport Management, Business Administration, Marketing and Sport Management.

Having clinched two trebles in three years, Kgamphe-Jane’s appointment will no doubt inject fresh energy and expertise into the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies program, propelling them towards even greater success in women’s football.

Though the name sounds relatively new to most of us maybe due to your seemingly less visibility in the public eye. However, we know Mamelodi Sundowns know what they are doing and confident that you will add value to the club. Welcome to the home of champions, you have chosen the best team in Africa. We wish you all the best in your role hoping that she propels the women’s team to even greater heights knowing very well that they have already won all the trophies available in Africa twice BUT also mindful that THE SKY IS THE LIMIT. ONCE MORE WELCOME HOME CHRISTA
