Mamelodi Sundowns continue with preparations for more football action as they gear up to meet with Chippa United on Tuesday evening. Coach Rulani Mokwena commented with his insights on the upcoming midweek action.
“We know that we have to work hard to get our bodies ready for the game and we will keep working hard in order to get better with every game. I watched the Chippa vs Richards Bay game, and it was a tough one. Chippa has got good players, so we don’t expect the game to be easy because we know everyone wants to beat us”, said Coach Rulani Mokwena.
The Chilli boys who are placed ninth (9th) on the DSTV Premiership table haven’t won a game since October last year and will be looking to redeem themselves on Tuesday evening following their loss to Swallow for their year opener. Brazilians Coach Rulani Mokwena believes the team will go into the match with improvements from their last game against the Natal Rick Boys.
“When I was watching the Chippa game where they drew 3-3 with Richards Bay, I picked up that the players are very stubborn and have a very good mentality. They have talented players, and we will ensure that we regenerate and head to the game well prepared.”
Coach Mokwena added that because of their results from the last five games, the teams will have to work harder on the upcoming game for overall improvement. He mentioned that every team will be looking to beat Mamelodi Sundowns and that alone is motivation for the team to go all out in their upcoming fixtures.
Playing their third game of the year, the reigning Champions have been enjoying consecutive 2-0 victories that have added to their points collected throughout the 2022/23 campaign.
Bafana Ba Style look forward to fighting for another three points in the upcoming home game against the Chilli Boys. After their successful visit to Umlazi for an away encounter against Richards Bay that ended with a 2-0 victory, the team intends on remaining consistent with the results.
Mamelodi Sundowns will go head-to-head with Chippa United on Tuesday, 10 January 2023 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Kick-off will be at 19h30 and the game will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
Let’s go for all three points
Good luck for the game against Chippa. Maybe this one we need to educate Chippa’s coach to change his attitude against us. Let us just show him that there’s a lot of coaching going on at Downs and that he is still lagging behind in that respect. Let us also show him the quality we have since he believes we do not have the quality but a system. Well we then need to put an icing on top with a drubbing so that he can believe Middendorp
I just hope the boys give our coach belated birthday gift.
