Masandawana Diski side gears up for an opener against The Birds in Mpumalanga

Mamelodi Sundowns Diski side will be travelling to Mpumalanga to face Swallows FC, the Coach Suprise Moriri-led side is playing their first game of the new year. They closed off 2022 with a 5-1 drubbing of Maritzburg United, with the clash against The Dube Birds being the opener, Masandwana will want to continue from where they left off. Coach Suprise Moriri and his boys have been busy with preparations for the clash away at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium and this is what he had to say about the upcoming fixture.

” We had a great time preparing for the game, the boys came back in good shape which is a huge plus for us. The first fixture for the year, they come with their own challenges, but I have trust in the boys, we just need to continue from where we left off last year. We have been playing well and I know come Sunday we must just convert the chances we will create on the day”, said Coach Moriri.

Bafana Ba Style are currently occupying position seven after eleven games with sixteen points and the side they are coming up against is rooted at the bottom of the log standings.

Coach Moriri added that “Look they are a very tricky side to play against, take nothing away from the position they are in at the moment, they are a very physical side and one thing that the game has taught me is that any team that comes up against us they will give their best and I don’t see any difference from them. I know they will bring their A game, but we have done the work on them, and we are ready for the clash on Sunday”.

The Young Brazilians will go into this game after having a few of their key players being invited to camp with the senior side, Coach Moriri shed some views on the group that was with the first team.

“Having some of our boys with the first team is a big boost for us, not only for those who went to camp but also for those who did not go. Now they realize that there is a window of opportunity of being seen by the senior team coaches. The feedback we got about the group that went to camp was great and we hope that this will encourage the rest of the group to do better”, concluded Coach Moriri
