Grant Margeman is one of the many young players at Mamelodi Sundowns who has shown fans that there is plenty to be excited about when it comes to the youth contingent that The Brazilians have. The 22-year old recently joined up with the U23 Amaglug-glug side that took part in a training camp during the FIFA international break as they continued to prepare for the Olympics.
“Firstly it’s an honour to be part of the U23 camp in Durban, it gives me another opportunity to showcase my talent and ability and to show the coach that I deserve to be part of the team for final selection. It also gives me a chance to build up my confidence and makes me go back to the club with a good mentality and a positive mindset.”
Having joined Mamelodi Sundowns from Cape Town Spurs (formerly known as Ajax Cape Town) , the”Pacman” as he is known, recovered from his early season injury to make his Masandawana debut against Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership. He now has the chance to fly the flag for the country at the upcoming Olympic games which is an exciting prospect for the young Brazilian.
“To be part of the final selection to take part in the upcoming Olympics would be a huge achievement for me, it would be an honour. It’s an event that only comes around once every four years and its of the biggest sporting event in the world. It would be a chance for me to showcase my talent and represent my country and hopefully make the country proud, it would be an honour.”
