The stage has been set for one mouthwatering encounter between two on-form outfits, when Kaizer Chiefs play host to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday afternoon at the FNB stadium.
Looking ahead to the highly anticipated fixture, Coach Manqoba indicated that his side will head to their first away encounter of the league season with a lot of humility and respect for their Amakhosi counterparts.
“We are playing against a very good team, and a team that is also well-supported. You have to have a bit of humility when you go into a match like this one. When you go to this match without respecting the threat that the opponents also present, you will be naive or ignorant. We are going to this match knowing very well it will be an interesting match.”
Coach Manqoba also stated his side is weary of the players who will pose a serious threat, having looked at the two matches the Glamour Boys have played in the Betway Premiership.
“The way Kaizer Chiefs has started, their transitions and the players they have upfront, Gaston Sirino is very important for them. Ranga Chivaviro is also very important for them and I must also say the young Mduduzi Shabalala has stamped his authority,” he said.
He lauded the Amakhosi head coach for the work he has done on his squad, saying: “I must also commend the work coach Nabi has done with the team. In a very short space of time the team looks very dangerous.”
To close off at the joint press conference on Thursday afternoon, coach Manqoba emphasized the element of humility, despite the string of victories on his side.
“I think we should go to this match with a lot of respect and humility. It’s still too early for anyone to start thinking we have found our groove.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will take a short trip to the FNB Stadium to clash with Kaizer Chiefs. Kick-off is scheduled for 15h00, live on SuperSport TV.
