Masandawana Ready to Take on Cape Town City for Maximum Points

Mamelodi Sundowns are in Cape Town this weekend for their upcoming fixture against Cape Town City FC in the Betway Premiership on Saturday night at the Cape Town Stadium.

Masandawana come from a midweek clash at home, on their return to domestic competition, after focusing on cup competitions for a while. Of course, they were on the better side when they outclassed Richards Bay in a 3-0 meeting.

Heading to this fixture in Cape Town, the mandate will remain the same for Bafana Ba Style: to collect all points on offer and extend their lead at the top of the tally. The 3-0 win over the Western Cape side in the first half of the season will also help boost their morale ahead of the reverse fixture.

Looking ahead to the encounter, forward Tashreeq Matthews said the team had little time to prepare for the match, but they’ll still fight hard to emerge victorious.

We haven’t had enough time to prepare for this game. We just played a few days ago. We also trained in Cape Town to acclimatize ourselves to the environment.

It’s a big game for us because we are on top and trying to extend the lead. A win is also important for Cape Town City because they want to get out of the relegation zone. They are a very good team, and for them to be at the bottom is surprising. We are excited for this game, and we hope to get positive results,” the forward said.

Mamelodi Sundowns will clash against Cape Town City on Saturday night at the Cape Town Stadium. Kick-off is set for 20H00, live on SuperSport TV.
