Mosimane Weary of Vaal University

Mamelodi Sundowns were drawn against Vaal University in the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup at the draw held on Monday night.

Coach Mosimane is weary of the ABC League team who eliminated Golden Arrows, following a tense penalty shoot out, in the previous round.

“We have been waiting for an opponent in the lower divisions and we finally got it. You need to be careful what you ask for because you will get the shock of your life” said Mosimane.

Vaal University, a fourth-tier side playing in the ABC Motsepe league will be flying high after causing the biggest upset in the tournament so far.

“The fact they eliminated Golden Arrows, a premier league team, means they are a good team. We think we have got a relief but we need to be careful” concluded Mosimane.

Matches will be played on the weekend of February 21/22‚ with the exact dates‚ venues and kick-off times to be announced at a later date.

There is no small team in knockouts, these Davids have always surprised the so called Goliaths, 1 knock and you are out! They just need to be respected and be given attention a bit, and be given good lessons on the day. They have the energy to run and mark the ball, let them get 1 or two lessons and they will be a better team in the future. Couch some prayers get answered very quickly, its normal but like you said one has to be careful. Its an opportunity for the other players to excel.

The history of being galaxed speaks for itself there is no time for complacency, downs must just brush all its opponents with same brush.

Its bad that Tapelo got injured but where is the like of Anthony Four in this situation to take over and fill the vacuum the group stages is mainly for then proven we will be swimming in the deep end and one mistake we falter. We need the full strength squad and just toast it with likes of Promise for flavour.
