Nascimento Ready For The New Season

Ricardo Nascimento has been with Mamelodi Sundowns since July 2016 and has been an important member of the last line of defence, he is also the man trusted with taking penalties.

The Brazillian shared his thoughts on the upcoming game over the weekend, as Masandawana takes on Bloemfontein Celtics, “When you know that the game is a cup game, then you expect a difficult match. We are looking forward to an exciting game and want to do well in this cup, we want to win it for the club and also for the fans.”

After a treble-winning season for Masandawana, the challenge becomes immense as the task to maintain what was achieved last season is a reality, “We have prepared well and we are expecting a challenging season, as the clubs are getting strong teams. The clubs are bringing new and good players to close the gap,” Nascimento said.

I thought Sundowns was prepared 2 buy a central defender in the mould of Rushine de Reuck someone with a great future ahead.Nascimento has been badly exposed when the season was coming for an end;&was left 4 dead&down on numerous occasions. Its high time 2 face the reality that Madisha cannot continue 2 cover all the mess of aging Ngcongca,Langerman&Nascimento but alas Sundowns bought mo midfielders when we had enough cover on that department.

I agree with Mfana, instead of buying many defensive Middlefields, nine in total, the club should buy one or two central defenders, where the team is struggling. Nocimento is old and slow, he caused us a lot last season, Lebusa is far better than him.

I am not happy for the club to let go Ngcongca, he is one of the experienced and best right back of the club, Sundowns management should keep him.
