Mamelodi Sundowns made it two wins on the bounce by succeeding in their DStv Premiership encounter against TS Galaxy on Wednesday evening. The defending Champions were tasked with a tough Galaxy after their return from one of their biggest wins in continental cup action. Namibian international Peter Shalulile was amongst the goal scorers at the Mbombela Stadium as The Brazilians returned to domestic league competition.
“It was not an easy game but we came with a plan and we executed it. We tried and as you can see they came out to try, but we were ready for the battle and we eventually got the first goal.” Expressed Shalulile.
“In the second half everything just went our way, we got the two goals and we won the game. The objective was to score goals, to work together and make sure that the team plays and we don’t lose the ball.”
Masandawana have now accumulated a total of 39 goals scored in their title defense campaign, and having contributed to the goal scoring tally is the sensational Shalulile with 13 goals to his name. Bafana Ba Style’s 3 – 0 midweek victory marked Shalulile’s first league goal in the new calendar year for the Tshwane Giants; his last league goal was against Orlando Pirates in December 2021. Shalulile spoke on the difficult period he endured whilst not scoring goals at his normal rate:
“As a striker if you don’t score goals you get frustrated, but at the end of the day there’s nothing you can do but to keep on going and working for the team. Everything has its time. As a great striker you have to go through such days and months of not scoring but eventually you will get the back of the net and score.”
“God is always there to answer our prayers and I would like to congratulate Haashim [Domingo] and [Khuliso] Mudau for scoring good goals, they are very good players.”
Masandawana will now turn their attention to preparing for more league action as they gear up to face Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium this weekend.
Great goal from Sha Sha it must build his confidence to score more. Otherwise he can score 25 goals before the season ends.
Another great win for the lads and we are proud of them
A great game &a great result for the yellow nation,we wanted to see this yellow machine in high speed &say catch us if you can.Lets collect another 3 points in Maritzburg & witness the Soweto giants strangling each other for 3points by the time will be opening a huge gap. That will augur well well for us to put our concentration levels on Champions League & the Nedbank cup competitions. But I’m still of the opinion that Neo Maema is the best midfielder to take shots at goal&has that e with Shalulile that makes him (Shalulile) very consistent in terms of scoring goals, but overall the performance of the team is what is needed.
That Thando Ndzandzeka is a criminal and is a zebra agent that one, he forever makes wrong decisions against us. He is now hoping that chiefs can catch us while on the other side oppressing us.He must be banned that one for 6 months, he will never go to the world cup that one , he is reducing our league to an amature legue, emagene killing such a brand for stupid favouritism.Zwane must let the keeper commit first before he kicks the penulty , at least a player of his calibre and age should know that.It is good that the technical team is rotating the team but players must grab the opportunity given.
