Sundowns Ladies Kick Off COSAFA Qualifiers

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies got off to the best start as South Africa’s representatives in the inaugural 2021 TOTALENERGIES CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. The Ladies secured a comprehensive 6-0 win against Lesotho Defence Force.

Masandawana will be participating in the tournament which spans over the period August 26 – September, 4 2021 in Durban. The competition will see a winner crowned who will advance to the inaugural TOTALENERGIES CAF Women’s Champions League that is set to be staged in Cairo, Egypt later in the year.

South Africa will be well represented by The Brazilians who have been outstanding in the local Women’s HollywoodBets Super League. Downs are currently undeafeated on top of the log with 34 points collected from the 12 games that they have participated in. 

The Women’s Champions League is made up of seven teams from across the continent, the top two teams in each pool will advance to the semifinals to be played 02, September 2021. Masandawana are placed in Group A along with Lesotho Defence Force, Double Action Ladies from Botswana and Eswatini’s Manzini Wanderers.
