A third meeting against Lamontville Golden Arrows this season awaits Mamelodi Sundowns as they look to maintain their unbeaten streak in the league this season when they meet on Sunday afternoon at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Masandawana come from the back of a victory and a clean sheet in their midweek clash against newly promoted side, Milford FC. Heading to the weekend encounter, not only will they be looking to continue their perfect start to the Betway Premiership, they will also be looking to hand Arrows consecutive defeats in their backyard. Looking ahead to the match defender, Khulumani Ndamane stated that Bafana Ba Style anticipate a tough encounter.
“I think it’s not going to be an easy game because we have already played two matches with them. So, I think they will come into this game looking to win. So, it’s up to us to focus and give our all so we may be able to go home with the maximum points.”
While they sit second on the log tally, and having the desire to move to the top, Ndamane admitted that what’s important for the team right now is to get all points on offer, how they win the game doesn’t matter.
“For us, what’s important is to collect the three points and score as many goals as we can to have better chance of being on top of the log. Even if we win 1-0 we will still be content because winning every game is what’s important for us right now.”
The defender concluded by urging the Yellow Nation to come out in numbers and support the team. He said: “we would like to encourage our supporters to come out in numbers, just like how they did when we played against Arrows last weekend in KwaZulu-Natal. Their presence encourages us and gives us the energy to give our all on the pitch.”
