The Diski Team Out to Continue Winning Streak

It is matchday seven in the DStv Diski Challenge and Mamelodi Sundowns welcomes Sekhukhune United to the Giant Stadium. The clash kicks off at 12h00 pm. This is the first-ever meeting between the two sides as Babina Noko recently got promoted.

Coach Suprise Moriri spoke about the encounter against the seventh-placed side on the log standings and said ” We know they are a team that works very well on and off the ball. We have seen the type of football they play is more of a transitional team, they have quick players up front. We know we will have possession most of the time but the dangers of having are that when we lose the ball, we have to be ready to counter-press and make sure that they don’t have the chance to play the ball behind our defence. They are a very dangerous team, which scores a lot of goals, we just need to make sure we contain them.”

The points difference between Masandawana and United is four points and this shows that the upcoming clash will dish out some entertaining football. Both sides have been in a free-scoring mode since the season started. Coach Moriri also added that “They have won their past two games with huge margins, they pose a threat up front and we must be aware of that and just to make sure we don’t lose the ball in dangerous areas. We have to be very careful on the day.”

Bafana Ba Style did not start the season on a good note, but they have redeemed themselves as they are currently sitting in pole position after not registering a loss in five games.

“So far we are scoring goals, we have scored in five games except for one which was a draw away. We are creating too many chances and that is what we are working on daily to make sure that we convert those chances in every game that we play. We are also conceding goals, soft goals to be exact. For us to be where we want to be we must eliminate those mistakes that we are making so that we can be able to register more clean sheets, which is very important for the team”, concluded Coach Moriri.
