Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Team coach Jerry Tshabalala was very impressed with the way his team returned to league action with an impressive win over Durban Ladies at Chloorkop on Saturday afternoon. Tshabalala spoke of the importance of his teams’ preparation heading into the clash:
“We were coming back from the Christmas break, and our preparation was very key, we had to prepare very thoroughly. We only had a week to prepare for this game.”
“We know that we have played this team before, and we beat them 3-0, but it was not going to be an easy game honestly speaking.”
“We had one of the best first halves we have ever had in the league, we played good football and I was impressed. It showed clearly that we prepared quite well.”
Tshabalala says the most important thing for the team is to keep performing in order to reach the targets they set for themselves at the beginning of the season:
“Overall we did great, we need to keep on grinding for results, what matters most is three points, we have our target which is 54 points, we are on 42 now.”
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies currently sit on top of the Women’s National League with 42 points from 14 games played. They sit seven points ahead of their closest challengers TUT who are on 35 points.
