We are looking forward to him coming into the team – Coach Rulani Mokwena

Mamelodi Sundowns got their Premier Soccer League title defense under way in rather unusual fashion, starting with a 2 – 0 victory in their opening fixture against Cape Town City then followed by an unforeseen defeat to TS Galaxy, who won a game against Masandawana for the first time in history. Masandawana redeemed themselves on the weekend when they thrashed Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs 4 – 0 in front of a fully occupied Loftus Versfeld Stadium, but regardless of the remarkable performance shown by the Champions, they remain in position number four in the DStv Premiership log standing.

The Tshwane Giants have brought in new signings to their already prestigious squad in a bid to refresh the squad, the latest to be unveiled is Bongani Zungu who marks his return to Chloorkop after leaving the club in 2016 to play internationally. Downs Co-Coach Rulani Mokwena unpacked Zungu’s homecoming and said: “[It’s] a complicated deal, it took very long. I want to thank Bongani for his patience and trust because he had other offers and he chose to come to us.”

“He was very patient, even more lucrative than we had thrown, but sometimes it helps when there are very good relations between the coaches and the player because their desire to come and work with the coaches and to be part of the setup helps. I want to thank Bongani and his family for the support that they gave him in trying to make sure that he chose us instead of the other options that they had and we are just excited that the club has made that decision to support in bringing ‘Bongz’ here. We are looking forward to him coming into the team and competing for a position which will be very difficult. We’ve got very good players in Bongani Zungu’s position and then he’s also a very, very good player that makes the competition even stronger.”

Truly speaking I was afraid when I read on other soccer publications that Downs might loan Nassir before he obtained his documents allowing him to come here another they talk about tok many foreigners at our team therefore Nassir will be loaned, that was painful news I experienced on this window period and I feel sorry for Safranko he’s good but our problem is foreign qouta.
Another player who must watch his back is none other than Saavedra it seems the guy is injury prone like Affonso and if he continues like this let the team release him in January next year its too much and you can swear he was hit by a train.
Shalulile now will be more dangerous than before because Nassir have taken all the burden from his shoulders and I wonder whom the opponents they’ll man mark the whole game. Its nice to be a Dawana not this days but for the past few years and hopefully for many more years to come and as long as our shrewd Chairman Thlopie is there sohlala sijabula,Kby forever

If we can give all our opponents the very same respect we gave Chiefs and our coaches always bring their A game like they did over the weekend,we will win this league within 20 games.DANKIE,DANKIE.I think we must be realistic and fair we have signed young and very talented players, players like Mvala,Romeo,Ralani,Lebusa,Maraisane, and Kutumela must be released,we don’t need them. From now going forward we must focus on development and getting the best out of Kapinga,Domingo,Maema,Mkhulise Mbule and also our development players,Mkhulise,Mkhuma,Makgalwa Mkhize and Mashiane

We need a squad that has depth… every player plays a pivotal role even if they do not feature much on game days. The playing squad is strong because of the other players who may not be regulars. A big squad will assist when we have injuries and suspensions due to yellow and or red cards.

With top players like we have, the technical team needs to find a way to rotate the players without obviously compromising results. We can’t to let players get rusty. Good luck to Zungu… He knows the environment. It should be fairly easy to adapt. We are happy to have him back. We waiting on the arrival of Allende so he can show us what he can do.
