We will be looking to bounce back – Grant Kekana

Mamelodi Sundowns get ready to face Maritzburg United in the DSTV Premiership in an away game on Tuesday night. Prior to the Tshwane giants getting knocked out of the MTN8 Wafa Wafa over the weekend by suffering a 3-0 defeat in the 2nd Leg of the action against Orlando Pirates, Bafana Ba Style look to win tomorrow’s action and collect 3 points from the encounter.

“The results over the weekend were hard to take in because we are the defending Champions of the MTN8, and we [the team] would’ve loved to progress to the finals and defend our title. We are disappointed but we don’t want to dwell on it because our next focus is on the league.” Said Masandawana’s defender Grant Kekana.

The 29-year old defender shared the team’s intentions and plans for the upcoming fixture against the Team of Choice, he said: “Our next match is with Maritzburg United, and we will be looking to bounce back from our loss against Orlando Pirates. We hope to get a positive result from the upcoming match and make the Masandawana faithful proud”.

The Brazilians are currently leading the DSTV Premiership log with 22 points sitting on position number one, meanwhile their rivals are positioned at the bottom on number 13. Looking at Maritzburg’s position in the league, it is clear that they will be looking to get out of the relegation zone which means there is a tough match ahead of the team as they intend on bringing back 3 points to Chloorkop.

Kekana added that the game against Maritzburg is an encounter that the team is prepared for. The defender observed the opponents’ playing style in how they start their attack from the wings and noted key players such as Bongani Sam (Defender); Thabo Moloisane (Defender) and Given Mashinkinya (Central Midfielder) who can make it a tough contest for the team but that will not stop The brazilians from fighting it out. Bafana Ba Style plan to go into the football action guns blazing to add to the points that they have in their DSTV Premiership campaign.

Mamelodi Sundowns face Maritzburg United tomorrow on Tuesday, 25 October in the DStv Premiership. The game will be hosted at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, kick off at 19h00.
