Mamelodi Sundowns are on the road for a midweek clash in the reverse fixture against Chippa United. The encounter, which is their second-to-last league game in this campaign, will take place on Wednesday night at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium.
The two sides last met last week Wednesday in Masandawana’s home turf where the Brazilians won the match 3-0, courtesy of Iqraam Rayners, Jayden Adams and Thapelo Maseko’s goals. For the return fixture, the mandate will be the same, which is to collect another three points and keep the dream of winning the league title for the eighth consecutive time alive.
Looking ahead to the return fixture against a side they met seven days ago, goalkeeper Denis Onyango stated that his side will not be resting on their laurels as they look to emerge victorious in the battle in Buffalo City.
“The preparations, after playing them a few days ago in Pretoria, are going well. The team is looking good, and we know the task that lies ahead of us, which is to win the game. There is nothing we are letting loose because we know the importance of winning the game. We believe that if we win this game, we will be much closer to winning the championship,” he said.
The shotstopper concluded by encouraging the supporters to come in numbers to support the team, saying: “we are calling the Yellow Nation in Buffalo City to come and support us in big numbers, to push the boys because we have been together throughout the journey and we want to be with you until the very end.”
