Diski Boys Take On Bucs For Semi-Final Spot

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski team cross paths with Orlando Pirates on Sunday afternoon in search of maximum points to advance to the semi-finals of this season’s Diski Rewired competition. The team is placed in stream 2 of the competition alongside Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs who have already booked a ticket into the next round.

“Our group was determined as the group of death and indeed it is the group of death. We played against Kaizer Chiefs and lost 4-1 but after that game we didn’t lose hope, we knew that we were still in it and even now we are still in it.” said centre back Mohlala Makola

Makola says the weekend’s encounter will be a test of who wants the victory more, “On Sunday we will be playing against Orlando Pirates, we know them and they know us, it will be a head-to-head game, there won’t be any chances and it’s a game where we need to apply more, run more and it’s a game of heart. Tactics are going to play a big role but the only thing that is going to make us win is the heart, the desire to win we have to run more than our opponents.”

“Making it to the semi-finals will be a very good achievement, we lost in the last two cup finals in the Diski Challenge cup, we’ve never won this cup, we’ve won the league previously so it will mean a lot to win this cup. Winning Sunday’s game can change our lives because it’s a big game, everyone will be watching.”

Downs central midfielder Ofentse Mashiane cemented the team’s fighting spirit and determination of going into this encounter with a winner’s mindset: “The team’s preparation for this game is going well. The energy, the hard work and the hunger to win is on another level, everybody is showing their top performance and that’s what we need.”

Both teams will be looking to register a win from this clash, however a draw will favour the visitors and more work will need to be done by The Brazilians to be victors on the day, “Yes, we are under pressure, we need to win this weekend to secure a spot in the semi-finals, but for us as players we agreed that the only pressure we are putting ourselves under for this big game is to perform to our best of our abilities, to show our capabilities, work hard and apply ourselves to the game plan.” noted Mashiane.

Mamelodi Sundowns face Orlando Pirates at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Sunday, Kick-off is at 12h00.

Al Ahly is not the same eintlik they are the same like most psl teams nothing special on them nowadays BUT if we can apply our minds well we can demolish them with avalanche of goals even though I don’t like Atteridgeville on that stadium We are cursed.
Yes I agree Mkhuma must be loaned its not player he used to played well like in MDC and put Mudau on right back position, yhose who say we must get a new coach next season I wouldbe quiet on that for now because even Pitso was giving us headaches sometimes with his defensive football.

Well done young boys. What I saw against the Orlando Pirates MDC team was really encouraging. Total commitment until the final minute. Let’s repeat it against Cape Town City in the semi-finals.
