DISKI TEAM BACK TO WINNING WAYS

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team remain top of the table after edging out Amazulu with a 2-1 scoreline on Saturday morning at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

It is the home side that enjoyed attacking moments in the first half, with them dominating the ball possession and creating chances. The first goal attempt came from Keabetswe Ramotsei but the shot went over the bar. The first booking also came from Ramotsei after a tackle on the opponent.

Downs continued knocking but the opponents’ defence was tight as they stood in the box and helped the keeper to deny them a goal. Even with the dominance, Masandawana headed to the break a goal down after Usuthu broke the deadlock shortly before the halftime mark.

The Pretoria-based side continued with the dominance in the second half until they found their breakthrough and levelled matters. It was Pule Manya, who had just went in as a substitute, whose long shot found the box and stunned the goalkeeper.

Manya’s draw seemed to have boosted coach Themba’s troops’ confidence because it didn’t take long before a second goal came through to stretch their lead. The goal came after a corner kick that caused a scramble in the box and ended in the net through Ramotsei’s header.

Bafana Ba Style continued to look for a third goal but they couldn’t find it, however, the 2-1 victory will see them remaining top of the table.
