Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team faces the TS Galaxy Reserves on Saturday afternoon for a return fixture in the DStv Diski Challenge at Giant Stadium in Soshanguve.
The baby Brazilians dropped points and moved to third on the tally following a nail-biting 3-4 loss against Stellenbosch FC last weekend and will be looking to turn things around and return to winning ways against a TS Galaxy side that they just met recently. Speaking to coach David Notoane ahead of the home fixture, he stated that his charges are ready to right their wrongs as they look to defeat TS Galaxy.
“We lost last week against a Stellenbosch side that in my opinion, we should have beaten. It was a difficult pill to swallow but we have looked at our mistakes and worked on them. For us now is to make the finishing touches for Saturday’s game and hope that we get a win to make up for last week’s loss,” he stated.
Masandawana and the young Rockets played out an entertaining 2-1 match where Downs – who were away from home – claimed the victory when they last met two weeks ago. Of course, Bafana Ba Style is expecting a TS Galaxy side that will look to redeem themselves when they come to Masandawna’s backyard. While that’s the case, coach David Notoane’s charges will not rest on their laurels as they look to alleviate coach Bernard Parker’s side when they play host.
“We were able to get a convincing win against TS Galaxy in their home ground and now we just have to get the job done and complete a double against them. It will be a tough match to play, especially because they are physically robust. Ours is to strengthen the backline and ensure that we don’t give away soft goals. If we don’t make mistakes and convert our goals when we have the chance to score, then we have a greater chance of winning,” he concluded.
