Diski Team Secures Victory on the Road

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team have secured another three points following a 3-0 victory over the Amazulu FC Reserves on Sunday afternoon at the Princess Magogo Stadium. Oarabile Booysen, Chuene Moabelo and Bennet Mokoena’s heroics helped the Pretoria-based side soar to second place on the tally.

Just fifteen seconds into the game, with a quick start, Downs almost opened the scoring. It was Ntokozo Siquba who drove the ball to the box but went on to hit the side netting.

It didn’t take a long time before the hosts retaliated. The shot that was on target was, however, met by Downs’ goalkeeper, Nqobani Biyela.

On the 12th minute, the Princess Magogo Stadium witnessed an opener which came through Booysen. Siquba made a cross to Booysen who beat the defence as he punched it in.

The visitors had an opportunity in front of goal through Bennet Mokoena but he just couldn’t get it right. Moabelo found the rebound and from range, he took the shot but he missed the target by a few inches.

In the final minutes of the opening stanza, Moabelo doubled the advantage for his side. His first attempt was tipped away by the goalkeeper. He found the rebound and lobbed it over the keeper. The visitors went to the break with a lead.

The second half had end-to-end moments, with both keepers being tested. Biyela was tested the most but he rose to the occasion and made important saves for the team.

On the 59th minute, Mokoena made it three for Bafana Ba Style. After being awarded a free-kick from range, His powerful shot hit the top corner of the net.

In the closing minutes, substitute, Sechaba Gaseitsiwe, had a big chance on the right flank but his effort was cleared by the defence.

After many attempts of looking to extend the lead even further, the young Brazilians had to settle for the three goals that won them three points.
