Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies return to Hollywoodbets Super League action on Friday as Banyana Ba Style look to maintain their perfect start to the 2026 season when they face Diepkloof Ladies at TUT Main Campus Stadium.
The Brazilians have enjoyed a flawless campaign so far, winning all six of their league matches while remaining unbeaten across all competitions. Sundowns have also been exceptional defensively, with the red-hot defending Champions yet to concede a league goal this season.
Following their latest 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch, Sundowns will be determined to carry that momentum into another exciting encounter as they continue their pursuit of further domestic success.
With another important fixture on the horizon, the mood in the Banyana Ba Style camp remains positive, focused and determined, with the squad fully aware of the challenge that awaits them.
Kgomotso Mussimango says the team has enjoyed a productive week of preparation and is ready to give everything when the two sides meet on Friday.
“The mood in the camp is very good and focused. Training has been positive and the team is ready for the challenge. We have been working hard throughout the week and there is a good energy within the group. Everyone understands the importance of the game and we are making sure that we remain focused on our preparations so that we can go into the match ready to perform at our best.”
Sundowns Ladies have built an impressive defensive record in the league, keeping a clean sheet in every match they have played. However, Mussimango insists that the team is not taking that achievement for granted and knows that maintaining the standard will require concentration from the opening whistle until the end.
“We are happy that we have not conceded yet, but we are not getting carried away. The key is to make sure that we do not become complacent. We have been working on our defensive organisation, communication and staying switched on from the first minute to the last. Keeping clean sheets is something that comes from the effort of the whole team, not only the defenders, so everyone has a responsibility to help us maintain that record.”
Asanda Hadebe echoed those sentiments, highlighting the intensity within the camp ahead of a fixture against a Diepkloof side she expects to provide a physical challenge.
“The camp is buzzing, but at the same time we know that Diepkloof are a physical team and that they fight for every ball. We have prepared ourselves for that because we know that games like this require concentration, commitment and a willingness to compete for every moment. Everyone is switched on, the training intensity has been high and the players are pushing one another every day. We are looking forward to Friday and are ready to give our best for the team.”
Hadebe also emphasized the importance of maintaining Sundowns’ defensive discipline as Banyana Ba Style seek to extend their remarkable run without conceding a league goal.
“We do not take the clean-sheet record for granted. It is a result of hard work from the front to the back and everyone has played a role in helping us defend as a team. We cannot afford to underestimate Diepkloof because every team comes into a game against Sundowns wanting to compete and make it difficult for us. The key is discipline, respect for the opponent and making sure that when our chances come, we are clinical and kill the game.”
The two sides have already met once this season, with Banyana Ba Style producing a commanding 6-0 victory over Diepkloof Ladies. Lebohang Ramalepe, Noxolo Cesane, Nonhlanhla Mthandi, Refilwe Tholakele, Lelona Daweti and Boitumelo Rabale were all on the scoresheet as Sundowns made a powerful statement in their opening encounter.

Eish can the technical team sort out the defence problem at this team, it has become easy to score against us these days. It is good to do aquad rotation however I think that at the back we need to be consistent in our line up especially at central defence which has been our down fall these days.Ndamane, Khoza, Johannes are not ready to give us what we want in that position. Mvala is fit , he should be playing there with Matuludi(converted) in the absence of injured Cupido. Then you can rotate the wing backs ,no problem there they all are more or less the same in terms of quality. In the central defensive middle field we must also be consistent with Tebza and Aubaas, then you can rotate the rest of other positions.we need defensive fielders who will always track back to assist defence.Managemnet please get us Ncanana to partner with Mvala or Matuludi and then also bring Ntlantla Zwane and close the cheque book.Sometimes the problem is not the coach but players, how do you explain a situation where Ndamane does not mark a player ,instead he ball watches and end up marking himself and its a goal , one nil against us, mxm.
