Mamelodi Sundowns are on the road this weekend tp visit Chippa United for a Betway Premiership encounter set to play on Saturday afternoon at the Buffalo City Stadium in the Eastern Cape.
The start to the season has been a positively eventful one for Masandawana, as they continue to break even more records in the league they have dominated for years. Currently seating on top of the log, the Pretoria-based side will look to continue their quest to regain the league title when they face Chippa. Looking ahead to the weekend fixture, defender, Zuko Mdunyelwa said the team’s mandate will be to win the game and stretch their lead on the league tally.
“It is very important for us to understand teams are laying where Chippa are laying, they tend to attack in different ways and trying to expose their opponents in certain aspects. It will be important for us to ensure that we stretch the lead to remain on top of the log.”
“Their approach will be to try and minimize our attack and stay low. They will try to hit us on the counter but we are very much prepared for whatever they throw at us. We will fix because we also have a plan against them. It is also important for us to understand the threats they will possess and try to limit them as much as we can,” the defender continued.
The last time Masandawana played in Buffalo City, they were able to make the Yellow Nation happy by winning their 15th league title there. Mdunyelwa stated the team cannot wait to be reunited with the supporters from the Eastern Cape. He further encouraged them to come out in numbers
“We have a lot of support in the Eastern Cape. We would love to have them come out in numbers because of the support they give us every time we are in the province. We can’t wait to see them in Buffalo City.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will face Chippa United on Saturday afternoon at the Buffalo City Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 17H30, live on SuperSport TV.
