The Mamelodi Sundowns medical team has offered an injury update on seven of our players as games come in thick and fast.
One of the players mentioned is striker Ali Meza, who was on the score sheet on Sunday when Sundowns beat AmaZulu 5-0 in the Telkom Knockout to progress to the quarterfinals of the cup, but was an injury casualty.
The forward injured his ankle during the game and is currently being assessed, with the medial department providing the latest on another six players, including midfielder Oupa Manyisa, who recently needed surgery on his Achilles tendon.
Here is a full update:
- Manyisa – one-week post-operation on his left Achilles tendon.
- Anthony Laffor – still undergoing rehabilitation for his right knee
- Emiliano Tade – still undergoing rehabilitation on his right knee
- Tiyani Mabunda and Keletso Makgalwa – both in their second week of training from their ankle injuries
- Lucky Mohomi – still undergoing treatment for his injured right knee
