It’s Very Important to Start the Season with a Victory – Rushine De Reuck

Mamelodi Sundowns are seeking their first victory heading into Friday’s DStv Premiership match with Cape Town City. The Brazilians will be starting their premier soccer league campaign against a determined City who finished in second place at the end of the 2021/22 season. Downs’ defender, Rushine De Reuck expressed his desire to get off on the right foot to defend their treble.

“Preparations are going really well, the guys have been working hard and we know that going to Cape Town isn’t going to be easy. City has been a very difficult team for us to beat, even last season we didn’t beat them in the league, we drew twice, we know how difficult that game is going to be, but we also know that it’s our first game of the season and we need to win just to get the momentum going into the next game. We are ready and working hard. It’s very important to start the season with a victory, if we win our first game it will give us confidence going into the next game .”

De Reuck was part of Masandawana’s Caf Champions League group stages campaign where they finished the group on a high note, securing the top spot in their group and already qualifying for the quarterfinals with a game in hand. The 26-year-old Cape Town born star was unfortunately one of the players to fall into Bafana Ba Style’s injury list in their camp.

“My goal this season is to stay injury free, I know now that there’s a lot of work that I need to do on the side, like strengthening to stay injury free and always be available for selection. I know that if I can get my momentum I can do really well for the team and hopefully we can be able to go all the way and win the Champions League, that’s the most important goal for us as a team.”

Pls do like any other big team in the world(just practice professionalism)every teams including tje small one are calling press conferences to unveil their new signings including the outgoing players but to my lovely Downs is always secretive till we saw new players on the field of play as if its twenty or more years ago where we used to see our new signings in Telkom Charity Cup I mean the league is resuming in three days time but our biggest team in Mzansi doesn’t do unveiling.
We had as usually by other publications that Sofranko might go and Lunga is already in kzn to Arrows so as Maraisane to Marumo Gallants and lastly we don’t know whether our Morroocan and Chilean players have arrived or not ya its painful to be a Downs supporter or fan but what can I say because my blood will always be yellow till I die.

I concur with you Muzi smaller details are what makes Sundowns very amateurish,I mean we have been waiting with baited breath, the announcements eg incoming, outgoings but to no avail.I mean we have to seek other publications or other media outlets to tell us about what happening in our camp.Divine Lunga is a versatile defender, but we r so obsessed with bringing foreigners in our club, Safranko is very average for my liking,we have those kinds of players on our shores then why him all the way from Europe?Modiba&Lakay can’t have that endurance for the whole season with such a fixture congestion and tight schedule &injuries in Africa.I’ve got a feeling that Divine is of great significance at Sundowns for his height, accuracy in passing the ball, his speed&great crosses,it’s just the injury inflicted on him by Makola was such a great setback.Mngqithi&Mokoena could be such a disappointing bunch of people,I mean they had every chance to evaluate Maraisane, when we were about to finish, with the season being a dead rubber, but alas they were so obsessed by ensuring that Zwane was always on the starting line up

I think Divine will be replaced by Sifiso Ngobeni! So the left wing back position will be covered even though Divine has gone on loan! He is not a bad player at all but we needed to accommodate the Moroccan defender at left centre back! We all saw how Mosa Lebusa performed last year! he is the one that made us to loose the quarter final tie against Petro Luanda! Safranko i think his pistion will be taken by the Ethiopian Nassir! He is very average Safranko i concur with you guys. That Ethiopian boy is deadly! I do not know whether he will be able to replicate his form at Sundowns or not! I think proper announce will be made in due course once the player movements dust settles down!

Y r we always the last team in tge league to sort out player movements? Every season we finalise loan deals for our players going out on loan in the last day of da transfer window

Transfer period is when I have no respect for my mighty downs, it’s one time they behave like Bobby Motaung, we have to hear from idiski TV that we paid R51M for the Chilean player, is he here already, we know nothing and this makes us a joke with our rivals. Pls can the chairman adress these deficiencies. Sundowns is huge and we can’t be doin these things.
